I think what I'm seeing is that really cold early morning air colliding with the warmer pond water. Unfortunately, this scientific explanation stole all the wonder of the rising, swirling mist from my enjoyment of the scene in front of me. Why? The way things work ought to fill me with greater awe of the Creator, rather than the hazy lack of comprehension of just thinking “wow, that's pretty cool.”

The weather is hinting at autumn, and I desperately want to capture and savor each day.

May I honor You, my Lord, in my thoughts, how those translate into actions and words, and in the way I spend my time. You have given but a miniscule number of days of autumn, days with tiny and adorable children, and I don't want to miss any of it. Please press these beautiful things into my permanent memory!
